New Jersey Beach Wedding: 4th of July
Are you thinking of having a 4th of July wedding in New Jersey? Next year’s 4th of July is on a Saturday and since this year’s 4th of July just passed, now is a great time to shop for decorations and favors for your NJ 4th of July themed wedding. And where should you hold your 4th of July wedding? On a New Jersey beach, of course!
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Fireworks
Almost anywhere along the Jersey shore or other waterview locations, you and your wedding guests can enjoy exciting fireworks and you won’t have to pay for them. You can check with the local towns to see when they schedule their fireworks displays. Red Bank’s, on the Navesink River, are always on July 3. NYC’s are always on July 4th. This year, Red Bank had the 3rd best fireworks display, with Macy’s in NYC having the best. We were in Red Bank this year for the 4th of July celebration and must agree that they were great! Red Bank really out did their past displays.
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Save the Date and Invitations
Once you decide where and when, design your “save the date” announcements with your 4th of July theme, but decide first how casual or classy you want your wedding to be. Your announcement and invitation should give your guests an idea on how to dress for the occasion. For a NJ beach 4th of July wedding, you could include a picture of the two of you on the beach sitting at a table with your theme decorations dressed as you wish your guests would dress for you NJ beach wedding.
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Decorations and Favors
So, NJWeddingVendors.com recommends that you do some quick shopping in your local NJ stores for 4th of July themed items. You’ll find great savings, but you must hurry to get the best choices in 4th of July wedding decorations and favors. Your NJ party stores’ and NJ craft stores’ decorating specialists will be able to give you lots of ideas.
A red, white, and blue wedding goes well with a casual NJ beach wedding. To have a classier feel to your 4th of July themed wedding, use lots of crispy white adorned with silver stars and silver ribbon with a gentle splattering of red flowers and navy added here and there on draped tulle. Placecards can be silver stars or hold the cards with silver star placecard holders; favors can be frosted candle holders decorated with silver stars holding white, red, and blue candles alternating them around the tables. In fact, since you will probably have an evening reception to take advantage of the fireworks displays, you use hurricane candles with the colored candles inside and ribbons and flowers in your wedding colors around the base.
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Cake
If you don’t care for the red, white, and blue themed wedding cake, you can carry the silver stars to the wedding cake. Choose a sleek white cake and adorn it with large silver stars and a red fondant ribbon will be elegant and gorgeous. For an opulent yet homey touch, surround your baker’s masterpiece with strawberries dipped in white chocolate. Add some blueberries to bring in the navy blue.
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Menu
For a real 4th of July themed NJ beach wedding, why not go casual with the red, white, and blue theme and have Bar-B-Q appetizers of mini burgers, mini dogs, mini ribs, corn on the cob cut in half, etc., making it easy for your guests to eat and party, too. The Bar-B-Q can be spruced up by offering grilled salmon, shrimp, and chicken. Side dishes should include berries (strawberries and blueberries to fit the color scheme), gourmet versions of potato salad, cole slaw, and baked beans and a nice selection of pies and desserts. There’s no need to provide a full bar; a tub filled with bottled beer on ice and a nice selection of wine should do it. Have festive punch on hand for the kids. Serve hard lemonades, some red and some blue. Have an ice cream sunday buffet or a Rita’s with red, white, and blue ice cream bowls and toppings. Don’t forget the cherries!
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Flowers
For a NJ beach wedding on the 4th of July, you might want to consider silk flowers for your bouquets and decorations. They hold up well in the sun and heat. And they look very realistic as well! In the past silk flowers didn’t look as good as real flowers, but you won’t believe how realistic they can make them today! If you choose to use fresh cut flowers, flowers of the season, in red, white and blue, may include roses, delphinium, daises and orchids. Ask your florist for flowers that are both in season and fit within your theme. Ordering flowers that are not in season can considerably add to the bill. Once you’ve decided on the flowers for your bouquet, you can add some more fourth of July flavor, by accenting the bouquet with small roses, crystals, or ribbon loops, with the red, white, and blue colors.
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Send Off!
When the fireworks are over, and the night is coming to a close, hand out sparklers to guests and gather for a final cheer to the newlyweds. A perfect end to a patriotic wedding!
Post Note:
4th of July NJ Beach Wedding Hotel Accommodations
When you are planning your 4th of July NJ beach wedding or any other date for a NJ summer wedding, you might want to check the length of stay requirements for your guests and yourselves. For this year’s 4th of July, we tried to make reservations in LBI for the night of the 4th. All the hotels, motels, and bed and bath accomodations required a 3 night stay reservation.
